Meet Our Mayor

Mayor Buck Houndwood is a retired United States Navy SEAL and former two-term Congressman who has dedicated his life to service, leadership, and protecting the people around him. After decades of serving his country, he now proudly serves the community he calls home.

For Mayor Houndwood, nothing is more important than family. He believes that the strength of Paleto Bay comes from the families, small businesses, and neighbors who have built generations of tradition and pride in this town. Those same values guide every decision made in City Hall.

His vision is simple: put Paleto Bay on the map without changing what makes it special. By encouraging responsible growth, supporting local businesses, improving infrastructure, and creating new opportunities, he hopes to ensure future generations can thrive while preserving the small-town character and close-knit community that residents cherish.
